Crosslinking of health relevant data in an integrative animal health monitoring system
Johanna Fick und R. Doluschitz
The research project “Integrated animal-health system” focuses on the optimisation of animal health through connecting animal health related data via information and communication technology. An effected analysis of acceptance, reveals that the technical equipment (hard and software) of livestock farmers and veterinarians in Baden- Wurttemberg is at a high level. More livestock farmers have internet access than the questioned veterinarians and also use it more often for professional purposes. Regarding the applications of the upcoming animal-health system for livestock farmers and veterinarians, they showed the most interest in diagnosis data for the herd and the individual animal, as well as in the access to data of the milk recording for the supervising veterinary. Optimised potential can be ascertained. Verification of the survey results in the north of Germany and an analysis of comparable IT-applications abroad will be forthcoming.
